With a background in art and computer science, I am frequently attracted to activities that blend analytic and aesthetic thought. My computer science thesis work, an analysis of search strategies for large facial image databases, combined my interests in visual imagery (especially faces) and system analysis. An earlier project, the Drawing Evolver, applied an interactive genetic algorithm to the production of line drawings of faces. Most recently I have become passionate about the craft of bead crochet and am working on several projects involving mathematically inspired designs, and on simplifying the pattern design process. I love drawing, photography, crafts, and math puzzles.
